Botox® for Migraine Prevention
By relaxing underlying muscles, Botox® very effectively prevents facial migraines and tension headaches from occurring.
This is a very good option for patients who have not had much relief from traditional migraine medications, are taking migraine medication too often (which may be dangerous) or who have intolerable side effects to these traditional medications.
Many third party insurance companies cover the cost of Botox® for migraine prevention.
Botox® for Cosmetic Treatment
A prescription medicine that is injected in small amounts to temporarily relax muscles in the face in order to reduce/eliminate overlying skin wrinkles and fine lines.
Although the effects initially last about 3-6 months, over time the treated muscles “learn” not to make the facial expression that caused the wrinkle, resulting in long lasting effect.

Botox® injections take only 15-30 minutes

No downtime required. Minimal side effects/risk. Most patients are able to return to work within 20 minutes after the procedure.

Most patients notice improvements within the first 2-5 days after their Botox® treatment but optimal effects are typically seen 2-3 weeks after the treatment.

Some people are concerned they will look “frozen” after a treatment. That should never happen with good injections. The goal is to produce a look that is well rested and relaxed. Many people look 5 years younger after their treatment.

Botox® has been used for medical and aesthetic purposes for over 20 years and has been well studied/tested and proven to be very safe.

Botox® for cosmetic and migraine purposes typically lasts 3-4 months, but if you keep up with your treatments on time every 3-4 months, effects should start to last longer and longer such that you can increase the duration between visits. Botox® for Hyperhidrosis can last for up to 6-12 months.
